This is not the typical Algarve that you know, this is the hinterland and the very true hearth of the Algarve, the one that as been preserved from the tourism and in may ways remains true Portuguese Algarvian since ever.
This is the Homeland of the "Guerreiro Horta" family, namely this is the house of the Guerreiro for the last 200 years. It has been completely remodeled in 2020 from an old house, into a modern house with a modern kichen with all electrical appliances, solar panel for the hot water and an efficient fireplace.
The lot is totally fenced with two entrances, one for people only and a gate at the back where you can enter with your car and park up to 5 cars, with extra space for storage or start growing your vegetables.
Location: On the hill top of "Cerro das Covas", that overlooks the "Sao Barnabe" village. Sao Barnabe is a hub in the inner mountains of the "Serra do Caldeirão", where you will find:
- The "Junta" (adminastrative hall)
- one company that produces Medronho,
- another company that produces biscuits and honey based products, a Restaurant-Snack Bar.
- There is a Care Home, of the "Fundação São Barnabé" a chain of Care Homes that exist in the South of Portugal, founded first in this village.
The house is 500m to the village where you have all this.
Amenities: Groceries are sold at the door, twice a week by van that drive by, pharmacy is provided by the "Junta" that collects the prescriptions and drives to the closest pharmacy to bring to remedies to the local population.
Main Parties: May Party, and November party both bring many people to the village
neighborhood: You will have a british couple on the first detached house as you enter the hill top, then you have a swiss portuguese gentleman in another house at the back of yours, and a portuguese old couple (the Guerreiro Martins family). Another hosue is being remodelled for future rent

The notes above are after more than 50 prospects and more than 10 visits to the house, specially for those guests that wish to bargain to the cheapest place and just need a place to crash.
- We are not in a hurry to rent the house
- The house is at a very good price in our opinion, as we wish to bring new people to the hinterland
- This is not a mere transaction base on money as we wish for a certain type of people to live in the house (read below)
- You should be confortable with the remoteness of the location, and as a foreigner that wishes to take a 15m drive and
enjoy the beach, that will not happen, it will take you at least 45 minutes.
